SAS Smart Air Systems presented at the expo two systems to help schools address Energy Management (EMS), through Energy Monitoring & Targeting in Conjunction with Air Monitoring in Classrooms, to save Energy while assuring good levels of Air Quality.
Providing Fresh air to classrooms was and is always a main target of any system installed in schools, however the new worlds energy crisis requires everyone to save substantially on energy cost which means in practice not only supplying fresh air to classroom, but also controlling the level of fresh air supplied to the actual needed level and not exceed supply of fresh air which means in practice over spending on energy, 'hile controlling the fresh air delivered to classrooms, whether through BMS/HVAC system or opening windows, we must assure we keep the good air quality in classrooms and for that we exhibited two suggested systems
Our SpaceSmart NBDair’s welSPACE System, that we intend for larger districts that have a BMS system is a product that provides a complete solution that monitors, detects, and solves the indoor air health problems, rather than only monitor to detect the problems.
The systems allows working as a distributed monitoring and control system the directly integrate and control RTU units for balanced health and energy savings, or in conjunction with exiting BMS systems, allowing facilities to tune in their BMS systems to save energy based on real data coming from classrooms. This date, that includes real information that included actual classroom occupancy, is different from the way BMS systems were designed for, for many years.
In the situation were BMS cannot be easily tuned to support demand-control for balanced health and energy for occupied classrooms, using the welSPACE as a stand-alone distribute system with integrated and controlled RTUs has already become a supplement or extension of the existing BMS capabilities.
The second system presented is our Class Smart system, that is working in a similar way the most school air quality system work – measuring CO2, temperature and a few more inputs and providing these to facilities that can manually analyze and improve performance. Small districts show good energy saving results by doing so as we present on our website. For larger districts, more automation may be needed as facilities may not have the manpower needed for an in- depth review or data coming from each classroom to optimize functions of their system.
